Artist Reply: The 2 women,enjoy so very much my work,Thom...Not only this work,but ALL,I felt very much so ...even much more then this photo shows.One of them kind of promise to buy one (of trees,watercolour - never posted it) when she can afford the money.The woman behind,came to visit my exhibition last year..and not sure maybe even a year before.Both of them are GREAT ANIMAL LOVERS...the one in front adopted 5 cats from street and a dog...and she is feeding regularly street's cats.The woman from behind adopted 3 dogs,actually save 2,that were in very bad condition..also from the street...she also feeds regularly street's cats and dream to adopt a cat home...but one of her dogs will not allow it,as she said.Both are so wonderful and warm...and was charming to me and my art and truly warmed my heart,and if i'll continue this kind of exhibitions,i hope to see them every year.This work is actually planed to be given as a gift to a very special friend,after my felt making exhibition...That will be somewhere in the future...Dates are not fixed yet.Thanks so very much...Have the cutest weekend,NIRA .

Artist Reply: Thanks so very much dear Steven..Painted fibers blend together on natural coloured fibers, and give it the feel of just a bit 3D dimension."you can't tell where one begins and ends yet at the same time it gives texture to the cats" - You see correct,thats what a lot of times I try to do in this work,at least in parts. Artist Reply: Hello Olga...THANK YOU,My friend...I use 100% fibers to "PAINT" Felt making.Even the base of the creation is done by myself.That means I create,the base from these Wool fibers, there start my creation after my inspiration.For the painting with fibers I use dyed fibers.I work in several layers, at least 5 layers after the base...but sometimes more/less layers,depends of the painting.This technique is very tricky,less controlled then watercolour to my own opinion.But it has the beauty,of spontaneous...What I mean more...is..You can put fibers at some planed place,but during the process it moves..some other place :-)...OK..It can move 1 mm...or 1"..more or less...you understand..you make your creation,with the understanding..that the fibers..might move a bit,during the united /combined of it ALL.During the process,it become smaller,then you started it..You can start with 100% to finish with piece of 60%...The process of joined ALL Fibers together takes alot of physical efforts..And this is the part,when some of the fiber can do a "WALK " :-))..At this point ,there are few photos of part of the process,in my sub gallery - Feltmaking workart. For quite some time,(6 months at least that I wish to make a page or pages to explain more of the process in my web-site..I hope to do so.I thought of making a video...but it will take much time,to do,right now for me...and I must have the right lighting also,Perhaps in future,this is not a promise :-)..just a thought.Have a most FANTASTIC Day Olga...LOVE & LIGHT,Nira :-)
