Hi! Extra class,colours and light!

Artist Reply: Josef, Thank you for the compliments and thank you for visiting my artwork. One of the artists I'm studying with has European roots. Both his father and uncle imigrated to USA in the 1930's and he grew up in Atlanta, GA, USA. His name is Marc Chatov. His father was Roman Chatov and his uncle was Constantine Chatov. Both the father and uncle are deceased. If you google Marc Chatov you can see some of all their works.

wonderful nude! love the colours!

Artist Reply: Annette, Thanks. That was a quick...if 3 hours is quick...pose and painting. I was very pleased with the outcome. I seem to get better results when I'm forced to work fast. Long deliberate efforts are more apt to go south. I'm stuggling with a new palet and working with an artist that is trying to push my color limits. It's difficult when we venture outside out comfort zone...but howelse do you grow. Thanks again. Your work seems very free and fun.

Beautiful painting, great composition and style!

Artist Reply: Lior, Thanks. I have to give the young girl credit for the beauty...she looks like she could have stepped out of a Disney King Arthur picture book. Since I was painging with a group in the round...my painting position was the luck of the draw...I did suggest the overall pose. Now the style...is what came out that night. This was an alla prima 3 hour pose. I was initially please with my drawing and the painting seemed to go well too. A good night...I guess I was throwing untouchable strikes. Thanks.

wonderful artwork

Artist Reply: Helen, Thank you very much. This was an alla prima work done with a live model over about 3 hours. Although I painted my first painting in 1961 and never studied art, I got serious in 1999 and found several artist who I have studied with, Gregory Johnson, Jim Schell, and Marc Chatov. I'm focused on people right now. I hope to post more later.
