This is the Historical covered bridge in Elizabethton TN. On any given day tourists will be taking photographs of this old structure and ignoring the real interesting subjects, themselves! Just thought you all would like to see what it looks like!This view is a bit different as I incorporated a newer bridge with the centuries old wood structure. Shot with Sony H2 on auto setting.

Great juxtaposition of elements. Especially the distant mountain so well framed. I grew up in the same mountain ridges just up the range in Virginia and I am very pleased with the way you captured that unique atmosphere. Best, I like your reason for the photo. Our society is hypnotized by things, never other people. Where I live to give someone a hug or to say anything that might, just might be regarded as a personal remark is considered highly inappropriate. The drive down interstate 81 staring dead-ahead refusing to acknowledge the multitude around. I once tried to greet a fellow co-worker driving home one day and nothing, not anything would force them to turn their head to notice that a friend was there to say hello. I resorted to the horn, lights, driving beside and waving, waving from behind but no, not a twitch. I wish I could say that was a once and never more event but this behavior is the norm.
