very awesome work,we had one of these around here years ago,was near my sister's house, they saw the tracks and heard it howl at night.

Artist Reply: I never had the 'pleasure' of seeing one in the wild, which is both unfortunate and fortunate! That would make me very nervous to see tracks and hear one like that. wow.

GLAD HE WAS SAVED, AND ANOTHER MASTERPIECE

How beautiful. What a great story too, he looks kind of sad, wonder what he is thinking.

Artist Reply: Thanks Christine, but he is not as sad as he may look. He leads a very nice, protected life. So different from what he was destined for when they found him...

Holy cow Marlene this is just beyond amazing pencil work. It is photorealistic... and you just started drawing?? Phenomenal. The texture of the coat amazes me the most.... looks like you could dig your fingers right into the hair. Of course you'd get eaten but... hehe. Welcome to AW!!

Artist Reply: Laura, Thank you so much for your kind comments. This piece was only my 7th drawing since I started doing this and took about 45 hours. I think I may have a bit of OCD! The scan really doesn't do it justice; there is a lot of detail lost, especially in the light areas, but that's to be expected I guess. Thanks again.

Very lifelike!

Artist Reply: Thank you Nancy, for both comments.

I had just received your kind words when you were in my port. In response...I had pulled this picture up when the phone rang. While talking to my Son....my eyes just kept going over and over THIS picture........ While talking...my mind kept saying...WHO IS this marvelous photographer? NO WAY! I allways prided myself in knowing the difference between photos and drawings. You GOT me here girl.....YOU have PHOTO fingers!!!! This is A PERFICT WORK OF ART! I would put it in the Picture of the Day....but I already have your little doggy in for today! LOL!

Artist Reply: Thank you Joanne! I had to stop looking at your gallery because my lunch hour ran out, but your imagination is marvelous. I really appreciate your kind words. And thanks for bringing the Pic of the Day to my attention. I am rather new to this site, and I remember reading about it, but kinda forgot. I will be making use of it, but like you, may have a hard time limiting it to just one!

I am amazed at your ability to sketch. The detail in the cougar's fur, the look in the eyes, the tree bark. Good heavens this is good. Does Eyal who commented on 10-1-07, realize that this is a SKETCH and not a photograph? I am dumbfounded by the people on here who see great art like this and feel that it is their responsibility to critique it. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.
