Peacock Gems Cross

I love designing fantasy crosses. I find crosses as a symbol of joy and beauty. A symbol of love and hope, one that you can show emotional tributes. For those not of a faith, the cross still has a beautiful shape and designs that can be made of them. For me, each one is a reminder, and I try to express some of the beauty and joy of life that my faith brings me. This is a peacock colored gem fantasy cross design. I takes a while for me to paint and manipulate these types of paintings into a cross. It is not perfectly matched in brush strokes, as I painted some of the gems after the manipulation design was formed. I kind of like to create imperfect designs as I go. It reminds me, that I am not perfect, and life is not. I've suffered from obsessive compulsive disorder almost all my life, so being able to make works that are sometimes not perfectly matched and balanced is a major step for me. Just showing and sharing my works are huge steps for me. I've hid, given away, or not worked on my art for years due to OCD interfering. The last few years I broke out of that part of me, and I am fast making up lost time. May my cross designs give you hope and joy in your life.

Beautiful!

Artist Reply: THanks John! I did a little variance with the glass for this texture and design. I was trying for a bit more glass detail.

fantastic work Terry

Artist Reply: Thanks Andrew! I get in the mood to make these for a few days, then switch up to work on paintings. Been a while for me to get some of these done.

Excellent work, Terry, very opulent and jewel like. Very revealing narrative and very brave. Your work speaks to the heart. Michael

Artist Reply: THank you Miguel so much! People that know me are surprized to find out my art, especially those that have known me for years. They knew I can craft tons of things, but hadn t seen paintings or drawings. A few knew I had done wall murals. Faith and and determination to create more finally won out for me. I had to make myself believe in my talents. I had to fight to rush and complete a watercolor, leave it out for family and friends to see incompleted. Once I did that, it help me relax and be able to work at a normal pace, as well as show my works. OCD is often called the "IllogicalDisiease". You know what you do doesn't make sense, but still it makes you do or not so something. Seems to run in my family. Understanding what I had was the step to recovering from it. I didn't know it was a treatable condition. I hadn't heard about it until about 10 years ago. Never as bad as the TV character "Monk". I can so relate to him though. LOL!
