Julie, you always bring such a great perspective and mixture of opulent hues to your photographs. Excellent work. Michael

Artist Reply: The opportunity to take photographs of sunsets in Los Angeles is a rarity. Living in the tropics, all a photographer has to do is buy a throwaway camera and snap! The fun for me is to find the treasure on the scavenger hunt. Like my plant abstracts, it would be easy to go to the UCLA, Griffith Park or Huntington Gardens to capture amazing photographs that have been carefully designed in their own "theme parks". I don't diminish the wonder of having that experience as a photographer, writer or anyone who enjoys the bountiful elegance and beauty of nature. The recent skyscapes and sky paintings were taken outside of my front door. The stone art can be seen on a walk, not in in Topanga State Park where I lived for two years and was inspire to buy a digital camera to capture the infinite beauty and architecutre of nature. Now after taking my first photograph about a year and 1/2 ago, I live in a suberb of Los Angeles. My neigbor's gardens, rock walls that Is a facade for homes in my neighborhood gorgeous sunsets are a treasured find. when one chooses to look. I don't have to look very hard when placed in The splendor of the wild life park, Sea World and famous zoo in San Diego. I would love to revisit the landmarks of childhood, especially the spectacular aquariums in Long Beach and the amazing Monterrey bay Aquarium. The joy of sharing this with Kevin was awesome. The park is designed for me to see amazing sights. Since I avoid most tourist sites, I have a long list of amazing State Parks that I have shared with many of my dogs in motor homes from California to Colorado; their best hiking experiences were in Utah. My favorite photograph is of my two dachshounds and my first Irish Setter as a puppy looking over he grand vista of Bryce Canyon. Kevie my son loved Sedona in one of the most spectacular states for Photographers, Arizona where the most enlightened men on this planet who are heading for the Tropics. LOL
