Asian Figure In Succulent Garden

I have taken photographs of many statues of Buddha and Zen figurines. I have seen rare antique and statues in bronze, wood, marble, stone and lacquer from Burma, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia in homes, parks and public buildings celebrating the Asian culture in Los Angeles. I saw this figure and this succulent artfully placed near the doorstep of a house. I am attracted to spiritual art and to the incomparable beauty of nature. This pairing was dramatic and paired in a beautiful setting.

Is that a foo dog? Wonderful Shot~

Artist Reply: Mary, I am not completely sure, but I do think it is a Foo Dog figurine dating back to Imperial China. There are also Foo Lions and Dragons. This one was particularily well done, quality materials.
