I can see why it sold ! I like the incredible way this painting merge and blend the main subjects colors shapes and , ahh, intent (?) to a coherent whole. Its all there in this one.

The asymetrical balance of this composition really draws the eye around in an intriguing fashion. Also love the colours..gives the feeling of warmth, age but some danger lurking too.

Survival and subsistence running through this piece shows that we as modern society struggle think we know suffering but do not compared to the ancient cultures that have weathered the calamities this continent has witnessed.
Annette, there is just something about the way his head is positioned that is totaly captivating to me! The blue hues in his skin are just fabulous! This is clearly outstanding, and superb work!
