Indiana myotis is part of a PA endangered/threatened species environmental education package I worked on in the early '90's. It remains endangered on both the state and national level. About 97% of the total species population hibernates in certain large caves in Missouri, Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois, and Pennsylvania is on the fringe of the species' range. Today 90% of the entire population survives the winter in just a handful of caves in the eastern United States. This delicate looking little bat ranges from 2.9 to 3.7 inches in length, with wingspread from 9.4 to 10.3 inches, and weighs from 0.18 to 0.28 ounces. It is often confused with the Little Brown Bat, PA's most common bat.
