This is a hand painted folk art egg I created from an egg shaped gourd. I crackled the surface first and then I painted a floral motiv on the front side of the egg. The back side is painted in a mustard color and both sides are separated with rice shaped pasta which I painted navy blue.

Artist Reply: Thank you Olga, I used to to do a lot of decorated eggs with my late grandma when I was a child in Germany. My daughter reminded me of this old tradition a few years ago when they covered this subject in her art class in school. It inspired me to do a few more elaborate ones.
