this is my latest piece and as usual there's about 30-40% loss of detail. it's 8"x11"(20.5x28cm)

This is great! My eldest son used many years ago to keep several rescued birds if prey, this brought back some wonderful memories; he is beautiful a lovely image, thank you: when you say "scratch board" I presume that it is the same as the medium known in Britain as 'scraperboard? black indian ink on white, coloured, copper, silver, or gold metalic background which shows through when the ink is scraped away; it's quite a number of years since I worked with that and this lovely work of yours tempts me to try my hand again one day. :) Gwen.

Fantastic art with amazing detail!!!:)

Artist Reply: thanks Dee, you're too kind. i'm slowly getting up to speed but no where near where i want to be as far as technique is concerned. i think if i could afford it i'd go back and take another course but alas i shall just keep plugging along on my own.

Fantastic detail! Wonderful work!

Artist Reply: thanks for your input. i'm curious as to how you came across this image. usually anyone who checks it out has something(big or small) in common but having gone through your work ( thoroughly enjoyed it by the way) i can't find a common thread.thanks again.
