Occasionally I like to do something non-figurative. These yellow roses were a nice compliment to a cobalt blue vase I had. I added the glass cat just for the fun of it...maybe got a little too clever with the title, but so what? Creating the various shading effects on the striped wallpaper was the most challenging part of this painting.

This is a pastel? I thought it was a photograph! Absolutely beautiful! The only clue that it isn't a photograph is the blurred edge on the left side of the vase. I am of course looking at a 6.5" image, so keeping that in mind I must say this is one of the most technically perfect works of art I have ever seen.
