Souls of Guantanamo.

The captured fascists being tortured in Guantanamo and held for unspecified periods at the Pleasure of President Bush is a stain on the flag of every so-called Democratic country in the world. We, who call ourselves civilized should be ashamed.

This is a refreshing bonus on ArtWanted...And you're right, of course; Bush, Dick and Co.LTD , should be answering to such a lot! I'm amazed at their impunity and they way they still prance about speewing their " views" and being so "born again": they are creeps! Anyway, great painting, XXXXX Ana

Artist Reply: Yes, but they will be allowed to live their lives as if they were not criminal murderers. Thanks for looking.

YOU ARE SO INSIGHTFUL AND CORRECT I LOVE THE THOUGHT BEHIND YOUR EXCELLENT WORK

Artist Reply: Thank you Margaret, the law must be observed and justice must be seen to be done. But I think Bush has been hiding behind a shrub in this matter. Thank for your kindly input.

I like the political themes. They are uncommon on artwanted, or perhaps I'm not looking too hard. My only suggestion might be to concentrate on one particular prisoner. As Stalin said, "One man's death is a tragedy, 1000 deaths are just a statistic."

Artist Reply: Thank you David, my difficulty there is that I have no sympathy for any particular terrorist, in many ways they deserve what they get. My point is that we are letting ourselves down by our treatment of them, becoming just like them when we in turn break our own laws to punish them. Thanks for your comment.

Deep, powerful work!

Artist Reply: Thank you Ron, some people thought I was for being nice to the terrorists but my thought was and is that you must stick to the law and that law must apply to everyone. Even those who do not recognise your laws. Otherwise you are decending to their level.

Strong statement Frank. Great work

Artist Reply: Thank you Donald.

Powerful artwork. I wish the image could be larger so I will be able to understand it better.

Artist Reply: Thank you Alex., it has to do with the souls of the prisoners being put through the hell of Guantanamo by bush, who, if there was justice, should be in there with Cheney.

Interesting representation. Be nice to terrorists? Please, tell some war widow that.

Artist Reply: I dont say be nice to terrorists Minnie, I say give them justice according to the law. If we descend to their level than they win because they have succeeded in making us worse. We are supposed to know better and to be democratic. If it was up to me then I would bar all Muslims from the west and tie up their money, but we buy their oil and cant really go too far.

Nelly van Nieuwenhuijzen 25 Jan 2007

powerful and touching work, Frank!!! GREAT!

Artist Reply: I dont like Muslims Nelly, To my mind, more than most religions it is negative and life denying and it seems to develop a great capacity for hate in it's believers. But everyone should have justice. Thanks for looking.
