Seems it's time for caterpillars to feast and gorge before spinning. I did some searches to find out what this one was and found it under stinging catterpillars. This is a White Lined Sphinx or Striped Morning Sphinx, Hyles lineata, that will become a beautiful moth with a three inch wingspan. Never knew there are so many that sting, besides the on that got me as a child in Maryland, that as a IO moth, aka 10 moth/tobacco worm.
