Berwind Canyon Wild horses

This is a digitally painted grouping of wild horses that I stopped to take reference photos of. They live in the canyon where I have some property in Colorado. Beautiful horses that will let you stop and watch them. I used an electronic graphics tablet, a Wacom tablet and wireless stylus pen and Corel's art software, Painter X. After I finished the painting I decided to change the texture a bit, so used a glass surface type effect. So I did manipulate the work, but I did the painting myself first. It is not a photoshopped photo made to look like a painting.

Artist Reply: Thanks Blue Doll. I loved the horses, and not this pose. Still, I try to challenge myself to paint it as the pose was. Will work on more horses soon.

Beautiful painting Terry, excellent work with that Wacom. Really great and majestic. Michael

Artist Reply: Thanks Miguel so much! I didn't want to hide the face of the horse in the background, but I think since I used a natural type pose it works. I fussed over this one too long, ad was going to toss it out.
