The Challenge

This was a commission in which I was asked to sketch a "restored" version of the photo below. As you can see, the photo has suffered extensive sun bleaching and water damage and the photo itself is actually permanently adhered to the glass in the frame. While the end result does not exhibit as much detail as I like in my portraits, this was one of my favorites to do. I love a good challenge!

You really did a fantastic job on this Cindy...The drawing looks better than the photo!

Artist Reply: Thank you so much, Roger! It was quite an interesting project. Once I scanned the photograph, I was actually able to revive some of the lost detail by adjusting light and adding gamma. It was quite a challenge and a lot of fun! :)

Very nice job. Your talent reaches the sky. Awesome as always. I wish I could do color portraits like this. You appear to have a soft hand with the leads of these very hard mediums.
