Today I went on a lovely drive with my husband. We went on a scenic drive and wildflower hunting. I spotted a few of these fist sized wild flowers on the side of the road. I included a zoomed photo of the ragged, past it's prime flower that I used as a reference for this painting. I started with a blank canvas, using my wacom tablet and pen. I used Painter IX software to do this painting. Not a manipulated photo, I did every stroke on my own. I used less blending than I usually do, as I wanted the chalks to show more for this painting. I used Chalks, airbrush paints, some blending, and a little pastels for this work. This is my version of of the wildflower. You will see that I did some varation of the natural colors, the leaves are not exactly like the flowers (the wierd, thin, scrawny leaves are not the same), as well as background. I hope you like it. I saw the beauty in the weed, while others will pass on by and not see, but a weed.
