hummingbird perching in tree (pastel/watercolor)

A bright hummingbird perched on a tree. I used my Wacom tablet & pen (hooks to my computer) to create from a blank canvas/screen this hummer. I used watercolors, airbrushes and water to mix the medias to get the bright look of pastels.

Artist Reply: Thank you Fernando! I love trying a variety of styles and looks. I have been taking some time off the last month, but will be back at posting soon. I love humming birds, and am going to finish a group I've almost finished doing .

Wow! How unique and enchanting!

Artist Reply: THank you! Sometimes I do more off a illustraive look, but and trying new ways to do hummingbirds. I am deciding on a look for a children's book I wrote and want to try to illustrate myself and publish. The birds will need to be bright and colorful, as well as the background. So far, leaning to the "Hummingbird Pastel", with the dotting/spray effect.

Artist Reply: Thank you! I was trying some luminous effects on the bird trying to get the sheen of the hummer's feathers by using brighter colors on this section. Will be testing out other ideas on more hummers soon and posting. Let me know which style looks best if possible, it will be a great help to me.
