I have 4 Black walnut logs and I'm drolling. Once again Thank you for your comment's. I have been working in wood as with re finishing, and carving a little .Just getting the idea, and doing cane work to get ready to do something just like this. I would be honored if you could give me a little direction, anything is welcome.
I greatly admire the skilled craftmanship that went into this superb sculpture--the carved detail, expression,the staining,-- love the headress of the medicine man's personal totem!
This is stunning, what size are your working in? What type of wood?
Artist Reply: Thank you Christina. This is Maple. It's 15" tall and 10" wide. It's 6.5" deep. It's been stained with golden oak and black walnut stains.
