Monroe & State

This painting was done from a photo I took of the intersection of Monroe & State In busy downtown Chicago. It is my first urban landscape painting, I was inspired by the work for Richard Estes. This image depicts a slice of life on a typical Saturday in the summer of 1996.

You paint because you must....silly question to ask an artist is why do it? Keep painting...leave the easy road for the lazy that rob the world of their talents, that is if they have any at all.. Anonymous guest pick up a paint brush and find out why real artist forget shortcuts...

Size of the paintings is not given. They are very realistic and I read they take 150 hours to do which requires a lot of patience, but not many will pay for all that time. You are talented. Photos can be put on canvas and texture added that mimic a painting and many cannot tell the difference. Why do you paint?
