bad day

Charcoal drawing on 18x24 pad. Focus on this piece was primarily on composition. I tried to convey an array of emotions that takes place within the violent complexities of war. From power/anger to loss to hope is all hopefully apparent here.

This is really a great rendering and hopefully we humans will evolve beyond solving our differences in so tragic a manner...very well done Richard!

Wonderful work, my grandfather wrote his memoirs on WW1, I have the original hand written copy. I can see in your art what he describes in his writings. Thank you!

Artist Reply: Hey Jude - no no, thank you ... when I started out this project I simply did not want to do a "good" looking piece without any real substance ... I wanted to infuse as much emotion and grit to honor those who were there ... in any battle.
