First charcoal drawing attempted here,never really messed with them and they are messy heh.I will be using them more-they are alot quicker than pencil or prismacolor drawings.I know the hands are huge but it was a perspective thing,hopefully that comes through. 14" x 17 Bristol board,General charcoal black and white pencils.

It's hard for most people to get any fine detail at all with charcoal, and you have so much. All the details look perfect, especially his face... and I love the texture of the pants. Oh, and the shirt! I didn't even notice that at first, and it might be my favorite part. The range of contrast gets me. I can't wait to see more of this charcoal business.Analua 30 Oct 2005

I can see the perspective. But I am more drawn to his face and cane than anything else. Wonderful expression. Charcoal is an interesting medium. I haven't messed with it too much myself either but I understand the ease of it in comparrison to graphite. Beautifully done image.
