14x18 oil on gallery wrap canvas. Commissioned portrait of my nephew on his golfcart with his dog. This was supposed to be a fathersday gift but it's a little late. I really struggled with getting his likeness (children are difficult for me). I don't know why I like doing portraits, they are such a challenge, but painting people is so rewarding to me.

This is a beautiful portrait of your nephew and his dog. I bet he will treasure it forever. I too find children especially difficult to paint and my painting teacher told me not to put lines in their face, and that does seem to help.Nancy Mattei 24 Aug 2005

I like the fact that the child's face is set off center and complimented by the dog. Your background has some detail, without being overwhelming. The red wagon enhances the greenery. Does it look like the model? Only your and the parents know for sure.Greg Joens 15 Aug 2005

To be honest ,the drawings,colours,composition n expression everything is there,but i still feel it's incomplete.just look your nephew's face if it rests at his back palm,there is no symbol of variation .other palm is also looks very incomplete.concentrate a little more at shaded areas...by the way it's looks beautiful now.PMyers 29 Jun 2005
