Pacified

9" x 12", Oil on Canvas. This child was laying on the couch with her fingers actually in her mouth just as you see. One of those..."I must get this shot."

Artist Reply: Thank you Athena. I'm pleased you enjoyed my paintings. Thank you for taking the time to comment. I'm on teh Honor Guard for the Metro Police and we have an annual Law Enforcement memorial cerimony during the month of March in Carson City at the Capitol. You should try to come to the next one, I'll keep you informed as to when it wil be next year if you would like? Thanks again.

She's beautifully painted! Her skin tones are so wonderfully shadowed and highlighted, her expression shows her comfort with her "pacifier"! My niece, Cathy, is the only child I ever knew to use those two fingers...and now another little girl. As much as I love your ballet series, this is my favorite of yours!

I actually like the hair..the texture blends with the texture of the feather wings... I think it is a very appealing and tender image of a little angel....Excellent work

The lustre and softness of the skin (especially the hand) is very lovely. The hair, on the other hand is too harsh and crisp! Altogether a charming painting.

Artist Reply: Thank you for your comment and critique. you are very right about the hair, an area I am still working on (painting hair). wonderful gallery.

WOWzeeee! Patrick, this is a perfect rendering and layout. And the cropping is just incredible to place the focus on "child was laying on the couch with her fingers actually in her mouth" (as you put it) and jsut enough of a hint of the wings to give a depiction of a child's Heavenly innocent. And your techique is so soft and classic. This is a master work my friend.

Artist Reply: Michael, Thank you for taking the time to view and comment, it is very much appreciated. This is one of many more cherubs to come. I'm in the process of doing a series 15-17 of these angelic ones.
