This is really a toss-off. I had cleaned a brush of some Naples yellow acrylic earlier whilst doing a small lap painting---as I like to call them. The sheet was on a clipboard. I have LOTS of clipboards. So on a whim I drew a face in gel pen over the color. One of my simple faces. Then I put a light blue color over the facial area with no other color. After that, I used some forest green to surround the face. It's on regular bond paper and measures something over 10 by 8 inches. Is it Original Jones Art? Well, it's 'something' to upload here in northwest Austin, Texas.

Hey Charles, this piece of art has it. Thanks for sharing. Hope youre doing well these days in wonderworld Austin Texas. Hohoho from a little stupified town called Amsterdam(ned)

Artist Reply: It isn't TOO joyful, is it, Erik? I was sorely afraid it 'might' be. Have you ever thought of folks as being similar to light bulbs? Wattage determines luminosity, so a low wattage bulb might be good for a nightlight or utility light in your refrigerator. Then there are 60, 75 and 100 wattage bulbs that are used for lamps and ceiling lights. Oh, and let's not forget the important porch light bulb. Can humans be classified similarly and, if so, what would a human's average wattage be? I liked your add-on to your city's name. Would make a good title for an post-apocalyptic movie. Hope all is good. :)

I really enjoy this!

Artist Reply: Thank you, John! I've been working on a couple of small 'lap paintings' but I'm exactly happy with them. This was just me seeing what might happen simply. Hope you are enjoying the almost Holidays. :)

The red-faced doesn't feel like observing the pagan Halloween balihoo by hiding himself in the mid-jungle. Hope you're very well, Charles

Artist Reply: Thanks, Nikolay! There was a movie called 'No Country for Old Men' some years back. I'm beginning to feel and understand that sentiment more and more. Of course, the guys who have passed the baton seem lost in a cloud of dust left by the boys carrying it forward. Oh well. Hope you and that nice family of yours are doing great. :)

This has a visceral feel and I like all the colors used . Hope things will get better Charles . definitely experienced those days.

Artist Reply: Hey, thanks, Dave! I started thinking about the colors....a slow return to clay, a sky blue wistfulness and a desire for the piney woods of northeast Texas of my youth, perhaps. Hope things are going well where you are. :)
