Bluesy is number 5 in this series of face sculptures. Of course, they are rather abstract and somewhat simplified. This measures roughly 11.25 inches including the base and the base is 5 inches in diameter. I used my usual compound, plastic, paper, floral foam, wood and acrylic paint. Original Jones Art, keeping it real, if not overly joyful, in northwest Austin, Texas.

Didn't know botex was also used for pumping brows. Glasses seem low enough to avoid viewing some harsh realities? Nice lady!

Artist Reply: I'm usually a bit suspicious of folks who go around cheerful and smiley all the time. It seems either a put-on or they're cloaking something sinister. I've seen a bit of both show through the facade on occasion. BUT anything that is fun to do can't be all sad. Hope all is good with Joanie. :)

Artist Reply: Dave, you know those plastic rings you break when you open a gallon of milk, orange juice, etc.? Well, I have been collecting them lately by extracting them from the containers. Those are inside the 'earrings' you mentioned. I wrapped them in newsprint then covered in my compound. Hope all is going great up there. A cool front moved in yesterday and it's overcast. No rain in my vicinity though. :)
