It's been said that poetry is a young person's craft. I can believe that. I mean how long can that thin veneer of idealism and the belief that the world really cares two figs if you write anything meaningful or not actually hold up? Maybe Thomas Chatterton had the right idea after all. This is an 8 by 5.5 inches gel pen with color pencil drawing on medium bond acid-free paper. Original Jones Art still ponders but he seldom panders in northwest Austin, Texas. PS: I do not understand the competitive urge that propels folks to make 'points' on this site when there is, at the present time, no reward or incentive for doing so. We are currently not having images posted on social media sites, for instance. This reduces the chances for our images to be seen, negatively impacting our monthly hits, and eliminates many bread crumbs that lead viewers back to the the AW site itself. A thing without logic is difficult to understand.

Judging by his wide-open eyes, he must be about to write something in the style of the Osip Mandelshtam early poetry^)

Artist Reply: In most countries, poets are ignored by governments and populace alike. Obviously this wasn't so for Mr. Mandelshtam in the time of Stalin. Thanks for the comment, Nikolay. Hope all is good with you. :)

Well Charles , grandfather wrote that great poem at the end of "Night of the Iguana" : ) Hope you have a nice Memorial Day !

Artist Reply: Well, Tennessee Williams was around 36 when he wrote the original story on which the play is based, so HE wasn't that old when he penned the poem. Interestingly, most poets are remembered for the poems they wrote under the age of 50. I mean if they are remembered by more than 10 to 100 folks total, Dave. :)
