Even Steven used to be an expression about a level playing field. But the playing field today is becoming more and more slanted and uneven for many. This is another of my envelope drawings. I used gel pen (black and white) and a bit of charcoal pencil. It measures 8 by 3.5 inches. Original Jones Art pushing the envelope in northwest Austin, Texas.

I feel the image is a little Picasso–like, containing something meaningful.

Artist Reply: Woo-hoo, Mr. Wu! Nice to have you drop in. ( In my day one dropped out and turned on. I'm afraid I was a disappointment as a hippie.) You have evoked Pablo's mythic name and I am honored, sir. I really enjoy your photos, just so you know. Hope all is good with you today. :)

Hand-made pattern adds a lot to the expressiveness here. Well done, Charles!

Artist Reply: I thought some of these drawings on envelopes added a little something to the genre. In my youth, i'd drew a little something on the envelopes I sent to friends, both male and female. It's now called 'mail art' but I had no clue but that it was something I added as a personal touch to something rather generic, Nikolay. I still do it to some extent---though I seldom get much return on my investment these days. Snail mail is so pass'e. :)

Nice envelope man Charles . The background works so well with your work. Hope you didn't have to do the time change down there . I want my hour back , no Even Steven here : )

Artist Reply: My hour was swallowed by the Daylight Savings beast also, Dave. But I still got up around my usual time. I think my biological clock is on Martian time. I like my envelope drawings because of the effect I sometimes achieve and because they usually come into being rather quickly. I hope the sun shows itself today so I can progress with the 3D project. Hope all is good and getting warmer up there. :)
