Ironically, I was working on this just before the auto accident in August 2022 when I almost lost my left arm. I looked at it again in 2024 and 'cleaned it up' a bit, lengthening a finger, etc. It stands just at 12 inches from the floor, including the base and it's roughly 6. inches wide. A few days ago, I dug out some of my old pinkie rings that I haven't worn in awhile. I slipped on a silver one and wore it for a day or two then, on a whim, tried it on the sculptural hand. It fit so I left it there. I used my custom compound, newsprint, wood and Styrofoam. You have to hand it to Original Jones Art occasionally here in northwest Austin, Texas. Wait! Is that the sound of one hand clapping I hear?

Wonder how it would have been if you has hurt your left leg... great artpiece with a story

Artist Reply: As I think I told you once, Nikolay, it was my right foot and ankle damaged in the crash. The one mashing down on the brake pedal. It has never recovered enough for me to safely drive. It's the one that loves cold weather and long walks in the park. Well, used to. Hope all is good with you. :)

Very moving background story to your sculpture. Take care Charles

Artist Reply: Thank you, John! I assure you, I left out a lot of the gory details. After the second surgery, I drew like a madman. I think I was fearful that I might yet lose the limb which was more than just a limb to me. Hope all is good where you are. :)

Quite awesome Charles . Your compound has a granite/marble quality to it and the fingers and hand positioning have their own emotion . The ring is the personal topper. Bravo : )

Artist Reply: I keep fiddling with the formula, Dave. But regardless the 'this or that' I add or subtract, the finished product still turns out much the same. I left the ring on to give the viewer scale as much as anything else---though I was surprised myself when it fit. Hope all is good up to the north. :)

SO NICE YOU HAVE THIS ONE AND TRULY GLAD YOU STILL HAVE THE ORIGINAL !!!

Artist Reply: Thank you, Joanie! Time would have become interminable had I lost the original. Hope you are doing great. :)
