The scanner isn't sensitive enough to capture some of the subtleties of shading and there doesn't seem to be any way to fine tune, so I guess I'll have to put up with it. Putting up with stuff is another name for adapting, I guess. This is a 6 by 4.5 inches gel pen with color pencil drawing on medium bond acid-free paper. Original Jones Art is the king of putting up with stuff here in northwest Austin, Texas.

It’s like me putting a sketch pencil on my ear, and coming back to see where I left it so I can continue my sketch! Then realizing, it’s been on my ear all along! Dá! :)))

Artist Reply: Yes, Mark, I've seen that too though I've never done it myself. Though if I'd developed that habit, I'd probably be losing one on a semi-regular basis nowadays. :)

Subtleties of the shading Well stated Charles Best Wishes

Artist Reply: Yes, scanners are notoriously inaccurate. Had one once that really hit the nail but it died and have been compromising ever since. Thanks, John. :)

Lol ! Great title and work, Charles. As a bespectacled guy, I can definitely relate . However never lost them on my head ... at least yet : )

Artist Reply: Well, no hair to lose it in, Dave, so it'll never happen to me. Could have once but never did. Though I've seen several videos where it 'supposedly' occurred. Thanks for commenting, per usual. :)
