Monarch of the Glen

I thought I would share my study painting that I did 2 years ago. The Monarch of the Glen originally painted by Edwin Landseer a favourite artist of the Queen. The Monarch of the Glen is an oil-on-canvas painting of a red deer stag completed in 1851 by the English painter Sir Edwin Landseer. It was commissioned as part of a series of three panels to hang in the Palace of Westminster in London. Dimensions: 163.8 cm × 168.9 cm (64.5 in × 66.5 in), my painting is only A3 size, could not fit in the front room otherwise.

This is a good painting of another painting looking majestic with high mountain colors. I do notice the neck looks really thick and the legs too weak to support such a large deer.

Artist Reply: Thank you for those kind words, I appreciate the honest criticism, that is why I decided to share my artwork, never too late to learn or alter a painting ..Regards Bryan
