woman from brussels, somewhere in the centre

no 2 from the series meetings in brussels for the Van Goghproject, this woman in the opposite of the woman I showed before, not so tidy, but still she has her own strength, later that day i saw the statue from Rodin of Balzac, it reminded me on her.... somehow....

you painted her with wisdom and character and perhaps an enduring persona... she seems very layered with many things... you love the riddles of people.. excellent work-brushwork-palette... : )

i like the interplay of the warm and cool color.those warm colors really pop her out of that background, making her the focus.i don't know if i like the croping of her head,it feels like she got scalped

the mark makes the woman look pretty depressed. it might not appeal to most people, but it was done very well.

Nicely done Mieke,trhe saturated color of her Scarf? is a great contrast with the rest of the piece. I can see Rodin's Balzac in this, solid stalwart expression
