Crippled Carnival Triumph

A week ago I was on the Carnival Legend when it went to the Crippled Carnival Triumph to give it supplies. The seas were too rough & one of our lifeboats was smacked against the Carnival Triumph when it went to take supplies. The window was broken & the side banged up pretty much. See photo. Also the Triumph was listing very badly. Two more of our lifeboats were lowered to try again, but they returned back to their berth. Not possible. We arrived just before 2 PM last, Monday Feb. 11th, to assist the Triumph & stayed by her side until 7:30 PM. Thus we were 2 hours late into Cozumel on Tues. Which was fine with me. I hope you enjoy the collage of some of the photos I took! I took these photos with my iPad

Nothing like a sea cruise to spice up your life especially with all the excitement Sharon. I am just glad it did not turn out any worse then it was for the poor passengers.

Glad, at least, that you weren't on the stinky one Sharon, but if it affected your cruise, that wasn't good either.

Lorna Skeie 18 Feb 2013

I am so glad that you are home safely and were not on the Triumph! I didn't realize that you were even on a cruise at the time. Those are amazing shots. That must have been quite an experience. Wow

Once-in-a-lifetime (I hope!) photos. I'm sure the Triumph passengers were at least grateful you were trying to help. Don (in Baltimore)

Good reporting and photos, Sharon! I watched the news carefully, and was hoping you were not on the Triumph! I knew you were on a Carnival ship, but not which one. So happy you did not have to undergo that horrible experience!
