The Dream of the Muse

It’s an oil painting which falls in the same category as Amphitrite. The two nude paintings of the Connecting time collection. The similarity of these two oil paintings is that the dominant colour is blue and it’s created in 2009 as well using fine brush strokes. The visual impression I want to deliver to art buyers and art lovers is a feeling of rest in a mythical work using elements of fantastic realism combined with surrealism. It’s using less powerful colours as in the collection of City Life. This artwork is for sale on www.haanstrafineart.nl and for a print on canvas, print on a greeting card or a print in frame you are at the right address.

The muses are the nine goddesses of art and science. They belong to the following of the god Apollo, the protector of music and art. Only in their dreams, the muses are free from the authority of Apollo. The dream of the muse is portrayed by three winged horses, which can be seen as a symbol of freedom.
