Very awesome shot! And I wouldn't be surprised to find that there was a little gosling tucked away in that slightly extended wing (I managed to get a photo of a adult goose sheltering a very young one in that way). Interesting fact... When I went to Niagra falls in May 2006 we got there just around the time that the goslings were getting big enough to wander- And it was amazing to see that the adults actually banded together and had ones playing "gosling-sitter" rangling the little ones to keep them away from the road--- while the other adults went about relaxing, paddling around the river, or foraging for food. I KNOW that is what was happening partly because there were 3 adults doing the sitting- and there were 22 babies.
