The music button is just below the reminding thought-line that Anneke has attached -- also an appropriate reminder for us: "Walls can protect, but also exclude." So many artists here before me have commented on this incredible wall. I agree. But beyond its weathered and time-worn texture I'd like to stress, also, how there are so many different hues of color that contribute to this wall's painted texture. I stopped by here often when it first was posted about two weeks ago; mostly, I admit, to look at that wall. But it took me a number of viewings and lookings before I could see it -- before I could really look into it very well -- in the meager sunlight that barely touches the wall's upper right half -- not gentle, but weak. Besides habitually looking first at the wall when I kept coming back, finally I began looking at the vague people along the wall. Finally I began realizing how they, some at a tender, potentially lively age -- you can tell somewhat by their height compared to the listless woman, going to or from market. The people were maybe as weathered as the wall. And then the greenery above, as if looking over the wall and down on the street below. It is the only green in the whole barren scene! How bleak! Even the sky. No. No primary colors, either! Except a touch of red in the foliage above The Wall.

Artist Reply: Yes, you saw that right, Bruce, the wall 'is' the painting. So many people have walked along this wall for ages probably, that I didn't want to highlight just four of them, so I made only a vague impression of them, expressing all passersby. The wall is telling the story of all things that have happened over time. It's really beautiful to read your comment, my dear friend. Thank you so much!
