Purchase Monarto Zoological Park - South Australia - December 2007. A 3 year old male looking up at his keeper -awaiting food. He is one of 6 cheetah cubs who needed hand rearing after their mum died 2 weeks after giving birth. I was one of 4 members of the public lucky enough to be in the enclosure during feeding. A Vulnerable species as listed by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Likely to become Endangered unless the circumstances threatening its survival and reproduction improve.
