12x12 in. Started on location and
completed in the studio, this is one
of the most exquisite flowers
grown on trees. The magnolia is
hearty, creamy in color and pure
beauty to behold. Painting them is
not bad either!
Very soft and lovely... great palette and wonderful edges! How you achieved those edges with acrylic I cannot figure out!
Artist Reply: Thanks Julie! The soft edging comes after years of working with acrylic but it is really not that difficult. When I have a hard edge, I simply lightly scumble over the edges that need to recede. And it is also achieved AS I paint by pretending I am using oil. You can visit my article about this if interested here: http://www.squidoo.com/acrylic
Titled, "Acrylic Painting: Two Secrets."
Lastly, with the new Open Acrylics by Golden, it's easier than ever to create a painterly look.
