I've been a fan of your work for quite a while now, and this is really a stunning piece. It's so nice to see the anime/manga style elevated into the sphere of political speech; it's been so limited as the "magical girl/hunky guy with sword" genre. This is beautifully rendered, and the composition is very strong. You've really captured a sense of arid desert heat, and you made an excellent choice in keeping the gun-wielding soldiers anonymous--it makes for a far more powerful statement. The only thing that bothers my eye at all (and it's such a stupid hang-up I feel silly mentioning it) is how seemingly awkward the victim's hand is drawn against the beautiful folds of fabric. Maybe its just that it looks more simplistically cartoonish, when everything else is so detailed.
And the small flower poking up from the cracked earth is elegantly poetic. A great piece of art! :)
Artist Reply: Wow! Thank you very much for your effort to write such a great comment! O___O
I'm very happy you like the artwork this much.
I'm very sorry the hand doesn't suit you. I don't notice its awkwardness.^^;; But therefore I really don't like the folds of his shirt! There are too much folds and they are put on improper unfortunately.;__;
