As you can see my master was Kandinski ,which I gave a personal twist.
"Color is the keyboard,
the eyes are the harmonies,
the soul
is the piano with many strings.
The artist
is the hand that plays,
touching one key
or another,
to cause vibrations in the
soul."
One
surely can feel my (and Kandinski's) affinity
with music,
which you often can find as a
theme in my
work.
The term "Composition" can imply a
metaphor with music.
As Kandinsky I am
fascinated by the emotional power of
music.
"Color and musical harmony are linked," said Sir Isaac Newton.
Kandinsky used color in a highly theoretical
way associating:
tone with
timbre
hue with
pitch
saturation with
the volume of sound.
He even claimed that when he saw color he heard music.
I'm still not sure
which side
I'll turn this oil.
I added circles and
squares of painted
WOOD to give this painting some 3 D
depth.
It works actually either way!
Wassily Kandinsky(1866-1944)
a revolution in painting!
As a
cellist myself I so totally can appreciate the
accompanying music of this video.
Enjoy!
