In Arthurian Legend, Morgan Le Fay played many roles. As Morgan of the Shades, she accompanied the souls of the dearly departed. She was even likened to the Three Fates, or moirae, of Greek mythology. They decided the fates of both men and Gods by weaving the threads of their destinies. Clothos spun the web of life, Lachesis measured its length, and Atropos cut it. When Morgan Le Fay watched over the wounded Arthur as the boat carried him back to Avalon, she had his life in her hands. Will she choose to cut Arthurs life thread on this night?
I hope you enjoy this painting! The drop dead gorgeous model for the three faces of Morgan is my friend and fellow fantasy artist Delphine Lévesque Demers! This is one of my largest and best paintings to date! XOXO!!
