Self Portrait

I received my first Woodburning kit as a Christmas present when I was about 9 years old. I have been playing around with pyrography for years since. Then in my senior year in High School I created a realistic woodburning for an art class assignment. This assignment opened my eyes to the possibilities that pyrography has. stepping away from the crafty folk art style to the realm of photo-realism. After that I kept burning as often as I could various designs and subjects all hours through the night and, after much refinement Ive created my own style of work. Wildlife is one of my favorite subjects to burn because of my love for the outdoors and nature. Like many artists I never felt like I have done my best work with my latest piece. I put everything I have into each new project making it the best representation of my skills.
