Self Portrait

Richard Barry started his formal education in the mid 1970's at Plymouth School of Art in the UK where he was taught by Alexander Mackenzie, a leading member of the 'St. Ives' movement. He then attended Stoke-on-Trent School of Art, gained a degree and established himself in London as an illustrator working for advertising, television, book and magazine clients. After a number of years he made the transition from illustration into fine art and his paintings are now held in numerous private collections. He lives and works in Cornwall.
