Self Portrait

Up and coming illustrator, Scott Nitza has had his whimsical artwork called, "Drew Friedman-esque&nutty" by The Fort Wayne Journal Gazette. His high detail pen and ink work is reminiscent of an eclectic mixture of Edward Gorey's obsessive line work, Maurice Sendak's attention to detail, and Shel Silverstein's love of whimsy. Specializing in black and white conceptual illustration, he loves to add a bit of eccentric thinking to even the most basic concept to fill his illustrations with eye-catching images well suited for book and magazine publishing and advertising applications.

Scott Nitza has been a freelance illustrator for about five years now, but has been involved in art and design for the majority of his life. Being the son of an art director, the grandson of a draftsman, and the great grandson of a printer, art is not only a natural talent of Scott's but also a family tradition. He received most of his professional commercial art training at Indiana University/Purdue University School of Visual Arts and is currently a member of the Graphic Artists Guild.
