nice Detail sweet smile on child's face brings back a lot of memories mood of drawing is nice!, will you work with background more, more sketching or shading, or add a touch or greens or blues or greys I like this drawing it has captured a very happ moment and makes you feel like you would love to visit the little farm feel the suns rays on your back smell the fresh mown hay and listen to the birds sing and feel the healing powers of the wilderness!

Well Ellen your skill is quite good..drawing is clean..only one thing you may want to try..expand your tonal ranges..darks to lights..leave that drawing above alone it's fine the way it is...drawn well..experiment with other works..you have what it takes..have been aware of your Art for months now..I stop and visit you from time to time.

Thank you to both of you. Binky I will try your suggestion of color and Juan you are one of my favorite artists here and will do more work on contrasts.

Well done, a very great start! :)

The only thing I could suggest for changes... the shadows being cast on the little boy appear to be *outlined* a bit... like you maybe drew in with lines where they were going, and then shaded up to the lines. It distracts the eye a bit, because normal shadows wouldn't have that. A little more soft blending, and it would be perfect.

You've captured a wonderful moment. Great work! Keep it up!

I agree with Juan...a little more contrast in the greyscale would punch it a little. But the composition is killer and it has a really nice feeling of depth...overall a very nice piece.

Thank You all, I am so pleased with the help and encouragment you are giving me. I have one more I'd like your opinions on and then I'll give you a break from my work. The picture I want you to look at is a water color of poppies growing outside our basement window. I'm trying different mediums to see if there's a chance one will work for me.I'll put on a separate thread.
