Yes Vivian...Unfortunately,if you are doing art for money, sometimes you have to sacrifice creative freedom to please the client.Even though you would probably rather be working on something else.

That is one of the main reasons I do not take commissions.When I do a piece, I have a very clear vision of what I'm going to do.Errr,the client usually has a very clear vision too,trying to please a client who 9 out of 10 times is wrong, is something I just refuse to go through.So,I don't...;)

The question of time is a big one for me too. I am a single parent and working full time. I gave up television, except for Nova, in order to make time to paint. I must paint at least two hours a day or I lose something important. It is hard for me to describe, but it is an ability to see patterns in everything.If I can see the pattern, I can paint it. Also I did not paint for twenty years and I have so many ideas in my head, there is not enough time for me to express them in paint.
