Guilty By Denial
It was love or so I thought To keep her safe in our home Not allow her to go out alone Valid arguments the ones I fought She never seemed distraught Attentive when she heard my voice In every aspect she accepted my choice And never ones in a lie she was caught My arms in refuge she sought She hid tears of frustration Eyes full of concentration I wondered about her thoughts She must have felt isolated No family close by to entertain You might think me insane But to her I was devoted She is forever gone And alone I will remain For this cell was meant to contain The eternal soul of a guilty one
