Welcome new members!

Welcome to the Collage/Painting artist group!

I'd like to emphasize, that this is a serious art form group, and has NOTHING to do scrap book paper pages.

I am teaching Collage/Paintings at the University of Delaware at the Wilmington Campus (Academy for Lifelong Learning)

If you have any questions about collages and the techniques, please don't hesitate to post them. I will be glad to help you out!

Much luck!

Love and Light~OLGA VAN DIJK

Hi - I've just joined this Group, but a little tentatively, as I don't feel clear that my collages fit the parameters of the group. (I haven't uploaded any to ArtWanted, yet, but will do so shortly.) They are not scrapbook pages, but they are primarily collage, and not painting, though I sometimes include torn up watercolors, or whole small watercolors. When I use another medium in my collages, it's usually colored pencil. What I am wondering is whether calling this group Collage/Painting indicates that it's for collages that do include painting, or collages that MAY include painting - or other media.

PHILOSOPHY Of MY COLLAGES 'The main philosophy in development of my new concept of 'collages' to use ONLY 100% nature, collecting mostly all available verities of plants/shrubs, flowers, twigs, petals, leaves etc.and then drying them in natural colors and textures.i rejuvenate all these dried natural materials, selecting 'Canvas' as dried Bark of Palm tree-leaves.This overall multiple activities of making collages which offer a new life and identity in my compositions.(please view some of these Collages in my portfolio). Nature is in constant changes ,it's human mind which immortalizes it. Accordingly i define my 'Collages" as "IMMORTALS" Further more in my words ....collages are .....Novel ......Innovative .......Creative .. .....Inspiring to every one Group Admin Olga Van Dijk and all Group-Artists are requested to offer valuable comments on these Collages made from all natural waste materials. ***Basant Soni**

Hello, I'm brand new here and I'm not sure my collages will fit in. I use much more than painting in my work - I use coins, chopsticks, pieces of Mah Jong sets, small stone carvings, large beads and whatever else adds to the mood of my subject. I love what I see here and hope I'll be welcome. Thanks, Dottie Blair
