Stipple/stippling, is the creation of artwork using dots. The artwork is different from pointillism artwork, in that stipple artwork uses only one color to create the image. The stipple artwork posted in this group must follow the rules stated herein. 1. Stippling is a drawing technique in which small, distinct dots are used to create a desired image or effect. The term “stippling” comes from the Dutch word for “small dot”. 2. The stipple art posted must be created using either, graphite pencil, color pencil, paint or ink, artist markers using only one color and be composed of dots, no lines allowed. 3. The purpose of stippling is to create the impression of highlights and shadows in an artwork, as a complete value range can be represented with the arrangement of dots. 4. If the rules stated are not followed, any artwork violating the simple rules above will be removed.
