There are no real rules, enjoy, but recommend studying great Victorian era classics like Jules Verne, H.G. Wells and read modern steampunk books and view various steampunk inspired movies such as Wild, Wild West, 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang, Wizard of Oz, Dune (1980's version), the list goes on and on. The universe is vast in Steampunk, so put on your best Edwardian/Victorian styles and enjoy.
